TV Pilot to be filmed in Smithers
You may notice a few more people wandering around town over the next few days.
American TV station Turner Network Television (TNT) will begin shooting the pilot of the novel adaptation "The Last Ship" during the second week of December. The title depicts the crew of a naval destroyer being forced to confront the reality of a new existence when a pandemic decimates most of the earth's population. The Hudson Bay Mountain 'prairie' will serve as Antarctica where the ship will make a stop. Famed director Michael Bay (Transformers franchise, Armageddon, Pearl Harbour) will be directing Rhona Mitra (Stargate SGU, Boston Legal, The Practice), Adam Baldwin (Chuck, The X-Files), and Eric Dane (Grey's Anatomy, Charmed, Private Practice) in this thriller.
