Marketing exposure to international markets

EDABC is working with the Province of BC to increase the number of companies listed through the ‘BC Business Network’.  The purpose of this initiative is to engage BC companies to enter new markets.

  • To create a virtual business club for BC companies interested in developing international trade relationships.
  • To put in place a vendor database, a matchmaking resource, an event invitation source, and an information and market intelligence network.
  • To build a bridge between BC businesses and the provincial government and local economic development offices, forming stronger ties between the three.

The Province would like to expand the membership base to include as many British Columbia companies as possible who are currently exporting or have the potential to become exporters.  It is through the EDO’s that we can reach the business community the fastest, and make more meaningful connections with them.

1.      To engage in a very aggressive campaign to reach out to your local businesses in your most important strategic sectors.  In addition, any companies falling within the following sectors would also be of value:

  • Advanced manufacturing and innovation
  • Clean energy & environmental technology
  • Digital media & ICT
  • Education & training
  • Financial & professional services
  • Food, beverage & consumer products
  • Life sciences
  • Major sporting event suppliers
  • Natural resources
  • Tourism
  • Transportation and infrastructure

2.      To assist, we’ve developed a recruitment template that includes an step-by-step registration guide that can be attached.  This will be a formal request to have them register with the BC Business Network.
