First company leases new lands at airport
The Smithers Regional Airprt has leased land to its first new customer since the redevelopment took place earlier this year. A 20-year lease was signed with Silverking Helicopters for a block of land at the corner of Harvard Way and Ventura Boulevard. Manager Rob Blackburn worked very closely with Silverking to make sure their needs were met with this location.
Co-owner Missy Hinds says that they have customers coming to and from the airport all the time so it's the perfect location. Silverking Helicopters plans on starting construction right away.
Blackburn says that he is negotiations with other businesses also interested in lands at the airport and thinks that the signing with Silverking will encourage others to come forward. He believes that this first new tenant will build excitement in the airport and that more will follow. Blackburn has been spending a lot of time on this project and should be commended for his tireless efforts.
